First launched in 2015, the UK University Leagues revolutionised student Taekwon-Do competition.
Operating for five consecutive years (2015–2020), this innovative league system offered a region-based, team competition model across South and North England, Scotland, and Wales.
Structured like a professional sports league, universities faced off in high-intensity team matches — promoting consistency, development, and inclusivity.
With categories for both ITF and WT athletes, the League allowed universities to gain regular competitive experience in a uniquely collegiate format.
Now commemorated during anniversary years, the League continues to be a cornerstone of BUTL’s legacy.
